Brief Biography - Dr. Wei Cai
Dr. Wei Cai is currently an Associate Professor at Sun Yat-sen University School of Law, Guangzhou, P.R.China. He received his doctorate from the Faculty of Law, University of Hong Kong. His research interests are in company law and corporate governance, comparative law, securities law, financial law and international commercial law.
His articles have appeared in International & Comparative Law Quarterly, Journal of International Dispute Settlement, European Business Organisation Law Review (2011&2017), Capital Markets Law Journal, Hong Kong Law Journal (2012&2020), etc. Some of them have been widely cited by scholars from Harvard Law School, Chinese University of Hong Kong Faculty of Law, University of New South Wales, National University of Singapore Faculty of Law and Tsinghua University Law School, among others.
He received, among others, the Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship in 2006, the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Award in 2010, a Highly Commended Paper Award by Emerald Publishing Group in 2011, and Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2014.
He is fluent in English. Prior to joining Sun Yat-sen University, he worked for RMIT University Graduate School of Business and Law in Australia. He was also a former practising lawyer in China and has published several articles in leading Chinese journals.
